Evidence found for Duke Nukem Forever iOS port

Duke Nukem Forever coverDuke Nukem Forever is finally getting close to its release date, which is currently scheduled for June 14th in North America. Since the game started development all the way back in 1997, the mobile gaming market has seen a huge increase thanks to smartphones and their software platforms such as Android and iOS. Due to this, it doesn’t seem very surprising that the developers would want to port such a highly anticipated PC and console game to these mobile platforms. According to evidence found in the game’s manual on Steam, Gearbox Software plans to do just that.

Nothing else can explain the presence of an “Apple App Store Additional License Terms” section within the manual that makes specific mentions of the iPhone and iPod touch, crushing rumors that the reference is made towards the Mac App Store. This evidence makes it almost certain that there will be an upcoming iOS port of Duke Nukem Forever, although an announcement of any information regarding such a release has yet to come.

Duke Nukem Forever for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is expected for release on June 10th internationally and June 14th in North America, and is currently available for pre-order through Steam as well as your favorite retailers. For now, we can only wait for Gearbox to announce its iOS port of the title, which is almost sure to come in the near future.
